






This beautiful Scottish country retreat sits in 319 acres surrounded by thousands of acres of glorious landscape in Argyll, with Ben Cruachan (3700ft) as its impressive backdrop. Ballimore Main House, Cottage and Lodge are 1.5miles from Kilchrenan and 5 miles from Taynuilt, in the Oban and Lorn area, 2 hours North of Glasgow.
Ballimore Farm Estate is a family run working farm, offering self-catering accommodation for different tastes and budgets. Guests will meet our Highland Cattle fold, Hebridean Sheep and Blackfaced Sheep flocks on our fields when walking or driving through the Estate. The wildlife on the Estate is great for birdwatching and includes buzzards, ospreys, hen harriers, black grouses, whooper swans and canada geese but also red squirrels, pine martins, foxes, red deer, otters, minx and wild cats can be seen on occasion. Regular seasonal visitors around the house include cuckoos, swifts and swallows.
Ballimore Main House and Cottage were built in 2002, using eco-friendly and energy efficient technologies. With our own wind turbine, reedbeds, solar fans, wood stoves and air sourced heat pumps, we aim to use the least main-grid electricity as possible and encourage our guests to do the same. The wood we use for burning is provided by our own renewable timber forrest. The water for the properties comes from our own spring on the hill. It is very soft spring water and is great for drinking.
The Main House offers a modern interior with five bedrooms, six bathrooms, a library, south facing terrace and a swimming pool, comfortably accommodating 10 people. The well-equipped large one bedroom Cottage is perfect for small families and the Lodge with its sleeping platform makes a comfortable couple’s retreat.
All three properties can be rented as a whole, however this depends on the time of year and availability.
As part of our plans for the future we are looking to demolish our semi-derelict barns and rebuild them to a high standard offering further guest accommodation, including a further one and a two bedroom apartment with an interlinking door for larger families or groups.
