The house is located in an historic area of Argyll in Highlands of Scotland, which has been inhabited since the 11th century and on a site which has had a dwelling since the 16th century.
Ballimore was newly built in 2003 to be as eco-friendly as possible with a wind turbine, reedbed and solar fans. It has underfloor heating and all water comes from its own hill and it is very soft spring water. Stylishly decorated, the large house sleeps 12 to 16 people.

The property would suit Painting groups, walkers and with conference facilities, corporate business stays for small groups of senior staff seeking privacy but within a modern unique environment. It also has it's own swimming pool.
Ben Cruachan, one of the Scottish Munro's is just less than 3700ft and provides the backdrop to the whole Ballimore Estate. Perfect for walking holidays. We are situated only 30 minutes away from Oban.
Ballimore means "big settlement" in the Gaelic language which was the mother tongue of the MacCorquodale clan a sept of the clan MacLeod whose chiefs the Barons of Phantelane have ruled over the lands of Ballimore since the 11th century.
The ruins of the clan's defensive castle tower remain on an island on Loch Tromlee. Guests are provided use of the boat on the loch which is ideal for viewing both "Eilean-a-Bharain" and the other smaller islands.
Ballimore makes an ideal base for fishing in its own Loch Tromlee, which is ideal for pike fishing. It is also only a few minutes from Loch Awe for trout fishing.
As well as our large Country House, we also have a self catering cottage and lodge all eco friendly wind power...
